31 Days of my favorite shots

Day 1 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This was a beautiful serendipitous shot of the adorable Princess Abbie. She definitely didn’t pose for this shot and a lot of times my favorite shots are taken when the subject is unaware. I have taken a lot of shots over the last 10 years or so that I am proud of and this is one of my absolute favorites.

Day 2 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This is one of my favorite scenery shots and my favorite falls. Sandstone Falls in West Virginia is a half hour away from where my dad grew up. This was a perfect day as far as lighting and it was about 75 degrees outside. I used a tripod and took a shot with the shutter open for 2 seconds. I had to use a neutral density filter to block a couple of stops of light to keep it from being overexposed. This gave me the soft flowing water. Makes the water look serene when it is actually quite intense and loud. I love going to beautiful places and just relaxing and taking shots.

Day 3 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is one of my favorite flower shots. This was taken at Calloway Gardens about 4 years ago. This was directly after being watered by the sprinklers. I love the look of flowers with water droplets on them. Very proud of this shot.

Day 4 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This is a beautiful shot taken in 2010 and post processed today. I have taken thousands of model shots over the last 11 years or so and still have all of them on my Desktop, laptop and a couple of back ups. I love this stuff and I love once in a while diving into the archives and seeing what kind of beautiful treasures I can find. These are definitely 2 treasures

Day 5 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This shot was taken at our Thanksgiving gathering of 2019. Beautiful great niece Dorothy wearing my mother’s hat. A true Southern Belle. She loves the camera and the camera loves her.

Day 6 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. I really love this shot. I went down to Tattnall Square Park in Macon one morning before the sun came up to get this shot. I set up my tripod and got my lighting as right as I could get it and just relaxed and enjoyed the show. The colors where awesome that morning. I caught the fountain before it woke up.

Day 7 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is definitely one of my favorite flower shots even though the flowers are fake. Taken at Rose Hill Cemetery on a nice cool morning. I love the broken old pot and the grave being the backdrop. I also love the framing of the shot. When I took this shot I did not know how much I would grow to love it

Day 8 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This will be a twofer. When I first came down to Georgia 8 years ago my second cousin Breanna was about 14 and I would take a few shots of her at our Holiday gatherings because she is very photogenic and always has beautifully colorful hair. I was afraid she would think of me as a creepy guy who always put a camera in her face. When she was 18 I asked her dad to ask her if she would like to do a photo shoot for me and I got one of my most favorite close up shots. The second shot was taken this Spring and I love the kind of Pat Benatar thing she has going on. It is also one of my favorite sunset shots. Both of these beautiful shots were taken at Rose Hill Cemetery. Breanna is a beautiful young lady inside and out

Day 9 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. I love this shot of a dandelion taken with a 10x macro lens. This was taken on one of my many visits to Rose Hill Cemetery. I need to do some more macro shooting.

Day 10 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This beautiful shot of downtown Mobile, Alabama was taken last year when I went to a funeral of one of my best friends growing up. The two red buildings in the forefront are part of Fort Conde. I am standing on top of another building in the fort to take this amazing shot. Mobile is were I grew up and it has grown drastically in the last 40 years since I lived there. The two high rise buildings with the pointy tops were not there when I was

Day 11 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is another twofer. This is another one of my favorite close ups. This is my beautiful 3rd cousin Autumn. This was taken at Christmas 2011, the year before I came down to Georgia to live. The second shot is her with Grandfather Bobby who passed away a few years ago. RIP Bobby

Autumn and Bobby

Day 11 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is another twofer. High Falls in Georgia and Great Falls in Virginia are two places that I love to go. The awesome thing these two places have in common are that they were both about a 45 minute drive from were I live. A short enough drive to be able to go anytime I wanted to and a long enough drive to get in some good music and meditation. I miss being able to go to Great Falls but High Falls is a good replacement

Day 12 of “31 days of my favorite shots” The first year I was down here in 2012 I went to an awesome Air Show at Robins Air Force Base. This was my favorite shot from the show. it was a very hot day and I got burned big time.

Day 13 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is one of my favorite flower shots. I like trying to catch a bee or butterfly standing on a flower. This was taken at Massee Lane Gardens In Fort Valley

Day 14 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. One of my favorites shots because I love old cemeteries and magnolias. This was taken at Rose Hill Cemetery a few years back. It gives you an idea of how old some of these graves are. Rose Hill is a peaceful place for me to go once in a while and just relax, take a little walk and get some amazing shots.

Day 15 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This shot was taken at Bellingrath Gardens on my trip to Mobile, Alabama last year. Definitely one of my favorite flower shots. Bellingrath Gardens is an awesome place that I remember going to with my Mother and sisters when I was a little kid. Good memories

Day 16 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is definitely one of my favorite model shots and it was taken with my iPhone instead of my camera. To me… it is almost perfect

Day 17 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is a beautiful shot of the handsome and photogenic Alexander “pookie man” This is my great nephew and was taken in 2013

Day 18 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This shot was taken at Amicalola Falls coming back up the trail from the bottom

Day 19 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is a beautiful Camellia taken at Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, Alabama

Day 20 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia is one of my favorite places to visit. It towers 876 feet above the New River

Day 21 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is probably my favorite shot from Dragoncon 2019. Miss Laurel is a pleasure to shoot. It sucked that there was no Dragoncon 2020 and I am praying for the chance to enjoy a 2021. I really enjoy these 3 or 4 days of massive shooting of pretty girls in costume. Yeah… once in a while I take a shot of a guy if he has an awesome outfit

Day 22 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. In April 2018 I went to West Virginia and the first night I was there it snowed. I got up early the next morning to drive around in the snow before it stopped. It was about 40 degrees outside so the roads were safe and the snow was pretty much melted by the afternoon. I was able to get this beautiful shot of a logging camp before it stopped

Day 23 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. Close up of a Juniper taken at Rose Hill Cemetery. Love getting shots with water droplets and I especially love the color in this shot. Looks kinda like Christmas.

Day 24 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is an awesome waterfall. Toccoa Falls in Toccoa, Ga. 200 foot tall. Definitely one of my favorite scenery shots. I made sure someone was standing in front of the falls to give you a sense of proportion.

Day 25 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This has definitely become one of my favorite model shots. Beautiful shot of Miss Julie taken at Rose Hill Cemetery recently

Day 25 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is without a doubt one of my favorite scenery shots. This is looking off of my cousin James’ back porch at the mountains and the horse Big John in Alderson, WV. Is it understandable why I like to get away to this place once in a while to relax and reset my mental and spiritual state?

Day 26 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This was taken on my trip up north this year. It was really strange to be in DC on a Friday afternoon without there being hundreds of people on the National Mall. I actually loved driving around the beltway at Rush Hour without a lot of traffic. One of the things I enjoyed when I lived in the DC area was taking the subway to the city and taking pics of the monuments. I try to put a human element into my scenery shots and I like having the man jogging and the pretty girl walking her dog.

Day 27 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is one of my favorite child portraits. Great niece Dorothy and 3rd cousin Braelyn. This was taken at our Thanksgiving gathering in 2019 before the world turned upside down

Happy New Year!!! Day 28 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. When I was grocery shopping I came across these 3 beauties. Of course I had to ask the beautiful mother if I could take a shot. This was a couple of years ago and it is definitely one of my favorite child portraits. It is unique.

Day 29 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This shot of a beautiful Camellia was taken just 2 days ago on New Years Eve. I went to Masse Lane Gardens right after it rained. The best time to take shots of flowers

Day 30 of “31 Days of my favorite shots”. This will be shots of people, scenery and flowers. This is a beautiful shot from Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga Tennessee

Why The Angels

A design called perfection.
A design called perfection. Model Yuliya
holding my logo.
I called it perfection because her hand was in
the perfect position to hold my logo.
Her hand was actually wrapped around
a small tree trunk

People ask me once in a while what got me started doing my “Angels of Brad Meador Design” series, and why do I do it. I will answer the second question first. I do this because I love beautiful women and cannot think of better subjects for my design work. This is not about objectifying or exploiting women. If you know me, you believe me when I say that. I respect beautiful women and the crap they have to put up with in life. I used to see women as sex objects when I was young, but today I see them as just people. Doing many photo shoots with local models and some of my beautiful friends, I have learned how to talk to women without trying to hit on them.

“Angels of Brad Meador Design” started kind of by accident. I started out by doing some designs with stock photography that I purchased on the internet. I would cut them out and put them in other backgrounds and do some wild stuff with them. I admit I have a little bit of an intense imagination. I try my best not to get too provocative though.

Not only Angels.

A lot of people have asked me why I do so many of the “Angels” designs. Well, I guess because that is what I enjoy doing the most. I guess it is my niche. I will be explaining that in a post called “Why the Angels”, that will be coming soon. If you follow me on Facebook, I can understand why someone would think that is all that I d0, and all I care to do. The fact is, that is NOT all that I can do for you.

Who is Brad Meador

I have heard about blogs for a few years, and it seems that everyone has one. Just like almost everyone has a website today. It usually takes me a little while to catch up on the latest trends. It was a while after Facebook started that I finally decided to do that, and now I love it. It was the same with texting, LinkedIn, etc. So, now I guess I will blog. I still need to tweet. That might be next.

So, who is Brad Meador? What is Brad Meador Design? Why is Brad starting a blog? Let’s start with the question of why is Brad starting a blog? When I first started Facebook I simply wanted a place where friends and loved one’s could keep up with the designs that I created. That is certainly still true, but I have decided that I want more than that. As my design work increases, and as I feel that I am getting much better at it, I want more people to see it. Even though I do not believe I will be remembered like Rembrandt or Vincent van Gogh, I would like to be remembered.
