Why The Angels

I called it perfection because her hand was in
the perfect position to hold my logo.

People ask me once in a while what got me started doing my “Angels of Brad Meador Design” series, and why do I do it. I will answer the second question first. I do this because I love beautiful women and cannot think of better subjects for my design work. This is not about objectifying or exploiting women. If you know me, you believe me when I say that. I respect beautiful women and the crap they have to put up with in life. I used to see women as sex objects when I was young, but today I see them as just people. Doing many photo shoots with local models and some of my beautiful friends, I have learned how to talk to women without trying to hit on them.
“Angels of Brad Meador Design” started kind of by accident. I started out by doing some designs with stock photography that I purchased on the internet. I would cut them out and put them in other backgrounds and do some wild stuff with them. I admit I have a little bit of an intense imagination. I try my best not to get too provocative though.
The next step was to tattoo some of my previous artwork onto a stock photo of a beautiful girl. Everyone loved this and I loved getting people’s attention.
This got my creative juices flowing. I was really enjoying this but the problem was that I only had limited rights to the images of these women. Then it hit me. I know some beautiful women!!! The problem was, I was not a photographer. Then I thought, I also know some photographers. That starts the next chapter of this story. I set up a photo shoot with a photographer that I met through a friend, and a couple of my good friends. I created a Model Release form that gave me and the photographer rights to the images.
The next photographer that I used was a good friend named Roger Burch. We did a few shoots with more of my girl friends.
The next photographer that I worked with was another friend named Brian Nemiroff at www.photographicutopia.com . This is when I met my dream girl Kimmy Page from Model Mayhem. I was looking for models on the internet and found her. I have done 3 shoots with her and other photographers and 3 shoots with me as the photographer.

In the interest of not running this post on and on… After Brian I used a few of the photographers from model mayhem and learned more and more about photography. The next thing that happened was I purchased a decent SLR digital camera from someone at work. I went to a meet and greet for Model Mayhem and met an awesome photographer named David Chester who can be found at: davidchesterphotography.com . He had his own studio and I set up many photo shoots with him and took shots myself. He showed me what I needed to know. This was AWESOME!!! I really enjoyed working with him. Since working with Dave I have done a lot of outdoor shoots on my own. I love this stuff. I have never done nude photography and probably never will. DO NOT get me wrong. I see nothing wrong with nude photography, but I don’t want to put myself out there that way. Plus, at this point in my photography career, I don’t know if I would be doing it for the right reasons. If I was asked to take some tasteful nude shots, though, I would not decline. I would probably not put them in my portfolio though.
I am now slowing down on the model shoots and going in different directions, like baby shoots and family portraits. The “Angels” designs will always be my favorites though. Well, that is my story. I hope you enjoyed it.
I will end with a few of my favorite designs. These are the ones that I love the most. They are also totally my creations, because I did the photography myself.

Peace, Brad
